Steel chip fragments from machine shops are relatively very cheap as compared to the other types of fibers used for reinforcing mass concrete. Therefore, this experimental study has been carried out in order to find their effect on the structural properties of concrete particularly the improvement against the additional cost and its comparison with that of other fibers. This study has been conducted in terms of cube crushing strength; cylinder split tensile strength, direct tensile strength, and modulus of elasticity and Poission’s ratio. The main parameters of study is the ratio of waste steel scrap chip fragments as fiber reinforcement which ranges between 0-1 % with an increment of 0.25% by weight Micro concrete with only fine hill sand passing through mesh No. 16 has been selected for this study with a ratio of 1:4 by weight |
