| 摘要： | This report explains the collision of Union Pacific freight trains MKSNP-01 and ZSEME-29 near Delia, Kansas, on July 2, 1997. One crewmember was killed, and 1 crewmember sustained minor injuries as a result of this accident. Damages related to the accident exceeded .$5.1 million. From its investigation of this accident, the .Safety Board identified safety issues in the following areas: the MKSNP-01 engineer's performance, the Union Pacific Railroad’s fatigue education program, crew resource management, and positive train separation control systems. Based on Its findings, the Safety Board made recommendations to the Federal Railroad Administration, the Union Pacific Railroad, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the United Transportation Union. |
