| 摘要： | Traffic congestion and road safety is the commonly faced problems by any interurban corridors, road owning agencies implement many plans/improvements to tackle these problems. The evaluation of these plans can be carried out by various methods by considering different road users perspectives. The performance indicator selected and method of transport activity measured is varying from project to project. In this article comparisons were made among the three approaches such as accessibility, mobility and safety as key parameters for evaluating the corridor improvement and performance and discussed their inter connectivity on planning decisions. The findings about these concepts and results about the interrelationships can help agencies carry out more objective evaluations of improvements/projects that seek to improve at least one of these measures of transportation performance. This paper presents three evaluation methods and explains' how to quantify these performance measures by taking one inter urban corridor. The methodology used in this study contributes towards a systematic evaluation of the appraisal of improvements for any inter urban corridors. |
