| 摘要： | The main aim of this study is to identify factors influencing young car passengers' willingness to confront unsafe drivers. The study consists of a literature review and two empirical studies carried out among Swedish adolescents. On the basis of the literature review it is concluded that young drivers have increased accident risk when they carry passengers of their own age. The main reason is probably that young drivers in general are more prone to risk taking when they carry young passengers, especially when carrying male passengers. The results of the empirical studies suggest that conflict avoidance and low belief in own ability to influence drivers' behavior are the main reasons why young passengers choose not to speak out against unsafe driving when feeling unsafe as passengers. It is particularly young males who experience such barriers against addressing unsafe driving. |
