The report analyses travel surveys from 9 combined public transport initiatives in Norway and the citizens evaluation of the different improvements. The comprehensive route reorganization which has been carried out in these areas has led to a better, simpler service for public transport users, but in the short term it has been more difficult for marginal public transport users. These analyses show that major route reorganization must be accompanied by comprehensive marketing and information measures to achieve the desired effect. In addition, increased access to cars and driving licenses has contributed towards reducing the effect of promoting public transport. In the short term, only the HundvAg package has achieved an increase in the use of public transport amongst the local population. Where targeted and increased frequency has been promoted, the measures have had the greatest effect. |
