In the Norwegian Travel Survey 2005 about 17 500 people from 13 years have been interviewed. This report analyses access to car and car use. The percentage of driving license holders is lowest among young people, older women and people living in Oslo. Car ownership is lowest in low income households and in central parts of Oslo. Car drivers make 54 per cent of all trips, and men drive more than women. The trip purpose is an important factor in explaining car use. Car use is relatively high on short trips, but many of these are part of trip chains. |
