摘要: Program E-55/59 acquired regulated and non-regulated emissions measurements from in-use trucks with the objective of improving the emissions inventory in California. The project was conducted in 4 phases (denoted 1, 1.5, 2, and 3) and examined 75 vehicles between September, 2001, and June, 2005. Test cycles for all trucks were the Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule (UDDS) and the HHDDT schedule, and some trucks were tested using the AC50/80. The truck emissions were characterized using the West Virginia University (WVU) Transportation Heavy-Duty Vehicles Emissions Testing Laboratory (TransLab). The regulated emissions data showed that the test cycle had a profound effect on distance-specific emissions, with most emissions falling as the average speed of the test mode or cycle rose. For most modes and cycles for the HHDDT, NOx emissions were lowest for the latest model year bin, and generally highest for the earliest vehicles, but did not vary substantially for the intervening model years. Overall, PM emissions were lower for the later model year groups, with very low PM from post-2003 vehicles. One may conclude that distance-specific emissions and idle mass rate emissions of all regulated species vary widely across the fleet.
