The project 'Test and comparison of DYnamic traffic simulation MOdels' (DYMO) was initiated in the light of the experience gained at the strategic evaluation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in the TOSCA project and the parallel survey of traffic models. The conclusion of the DYMO project is that existing dynamic models are well suited for Traffic control applications. In other areas, new modules should be developed to meet the requirements from capturing the effects of ITS. For models, which would be introduced in Sweden, a need is at hand to calibrate the capacity assumptions and adapt the driver behavior to Swedish traffic conditions. |
