摘要: New techniques have been developed which allow for real time prediction of ship vulnerability to pressure mines at all points along the shipping routes approaching and within Australias priority ports. Rather than performing an extensive series of measurements, environmental bottom pressure fluctuations can be predicted using data from existing offshore wave measuring systems. The techniques have been validated by measurements in Sydney Harbour. In addition, sweep effectiveness can be predicted in real time, and seasonal averages of ship vulnerability and sweep effectiveness calculated for planning purposes.
