摘要: Several major modifications to the 8- by 6-Foot Supersonic Wind Tunnel (8×6 SWT) and 9- by 15-Foot Low-Speed Wind Tunnel (9×15 LSWT) complex were made between 2016 and 2019 during the 9×15 LSWT acoustic improvement modifications project. Jacobs Technology, Inc., was chosen to be the primary contractor of the acoustic improvement modifications project. This effort, further detailed in an upcoming section, aimed at reducing the noise floor in the 9×15 LSWT test section to enable more accurate (higher signal-to-noise) measurement of model-generated noise while maintaining or improving flow quality. Reference 2 details the acoustic quality of the test section prior to the improvement effort (a report detailing the acoustic quality following the improvement effort is in publication). In addition to the larger structural changes to the facility made during the acoustic improvement modifications project, the facility data acquisition, pressure measurement, and control systems were upgraded.
