The computing of traffic operational performance is raised within the birth of traffic discipline, and always traffic engineers are eager to quantify the operational performance and mitigate the traffic related problems. Measurement of effectiveness (MOE) by number of stops is the focus of this research. This research has two objectives, one is to prove the hypothesis there is a relationship between travel time and number of stops. Second objective is to demonstrate how strong a relationship exists between number of stops and travel time. For this purpose, Lianyungang city network has been selected as case study, real existing conditions and operation performance has been simulated in VISSIM software, and regression analysis done in Minitab software. This research attests the first objective by individual analysis passing values at p-valuelt;0.05, and second objective is demonstrated by building regression models. The regression models are evaluated by regression coefficient (R2 value), standard error (s), and square means error (SME). For intersection model, R2=74.68%, and for arterial model, R2=0.16%to 9.76%. For combining both intersection and arterial, R2=51.47%. Regression analysis model is recommended for estimating number of stops according to travel time. |
