| 摘要： | In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), this document evaluates the potential environmental impacts of the repair and maintenance of the armor rock at the Westport marina revetment in Westport, Grays Harbor County, Washington. The Point Chehalis revetment, in combination with a system of groins, stabilizes Point Chehalis against erosion and protects the federally authorized boat basin at Westhaven Cove, as well as substantial private and commercial property and public infrastructure in central Westport. The revetment has suffered considerable damage since the completion of the 1972 rehabilitation, and continues to suffer damage from winter storm winds and waves. There have been several repairs to the revetment wall and groins since the 1972 rehabilitation. These have generally been expedient repairs conducted on an emergency basis, often with undersized stone. The impacts of the February 2013 temporary strategic placement of suitable sized armor stones immediately landward of the Point Chehalis revetment is also evaluated. This action staged a sufficient volume of material such that if the revetment does deteriorate further during a storm, appropriate material is readily available on site for an interim repair. |
