摘要: This document consists of 17 papers that examine capillary pressure monitoring in plastic concrete for controlling early-age shrinkage cracking; volume stability and cracking potential of prebagged, cement-based nonshrink grouts for field-cast connections; surface texture measurements of crack surface to establish joint shear stiffness; mixture design for minimizing cement content in pavement concrete; abrasion response and impact on friction with nanoconcrete for rigid pavements; a kinetic study of photocatalytic degradation of nitrogen monoxide with titanium dioxide nanoparticles in concrete pavements; development, field testing, and implementation of improved bridge parapet designs; and development of an aggregate avoidance index for evaluating recycled aggregate concrete. This issue also explores a methodology for identifying zero-stress time for jointed plain concrete pavements; observed variability in cylinder and core strength from U.S. Federal Highway Administration highway materials engineering course; acoustic emission and low-temperature calorimetry study of freeze and thaw behavior in cementitious materials exposed to sodium chloride salt; determination of required insulation for preventing early-age cracking in mass concrete footings; effect of fiber-reinforced polymer wrapping on concrete chloride penetration and concrete cover; influence of slag aggregate production on its potential for use in internal curing; performance of portland limestone cements; laboratory and field investigations on high-volume fly ash concrete for rigid pavement; and fracture properties of roller-compacted concrete with virgin and recycled aggregates.
