| 摘要： | We are pursuing a project to examine the amino sugar N-acetylglucosamine, via its ability to increase protein O-GlcNAcylation,as a means to promote DNA double strand break repair and thereby prevent and mitigate the toxicity of radiation in the bonemarrow and other rapidly proliferative tissues, toward reducing both the acute and delayed effects of radiation, includingmalignancy. During the second year of research, in vitro research has progressed on a reasonable pace, though in vivostudies continue to lag. Our work to date has set the stage for a productive third year of research. |
