摘要: While many studies have been performed examining UrbanAir Mobility (UAM) operations from UAM Maturity Level(UML) UML-1 to UML-4, [1, 2] some uncertainty existsregarding the integration and role of onboard autonomoussystems, airspace management systems, ground control and fleetmanagement systems, and how they integrate with vertiportautomation systems to ensure safe high-density future operations. One thrust of the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) High DensityVertiplex (HDV) sub-project is to perform rapid prototyping andassessment of an Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Ecosystem withinthe terminal operational area to help inform future researchinvestments and technology development. Another thrust withinHDV is to perform integration, testing, and safety riskassessments required to acquire operational credit for severalNASA small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) beyond visualline of sight (BVLOS) enabling technologies to expand testcapabilities and to expedite technology transfer and ultimateeffective usage. Both thrusts leverage sUAS to serve assurrogates for the highly-technologically-similar envisionedUAM aircraft as well as to provide significant contributions tosUAS Part-135 operators. This report provides an overview ofthe activities accomplished within the Advanced OnboardAutomation (AOA) schedule work package of HDV.
