The following is a condensed version of the Marine Accident Report into the capsizing and sinking of the Fishing Vessel Sea King by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). About 1600 oAbout 1600 on January 9, 1991, the F/V SEA KING, a 76-foot stem trawler, departed Astoria, Oregon,for several days of fishing off the coast of Oregon and Washington. The four-man crew consisted of an oper-ator and three deckhands. At about 0500 on January 11, the vessel's steering began to malfunction. |
