Different types and kinds of SBS modifiers make remarkable improvements on modi fied asphalts. Performances of modified asphalts made by different proportions and usage of SBS modifiers with different types and kinds were researched systematically, which included penetration index, equivalent softening point, equivalent breaking point, low temperature ductility, elastic recovery ability, hot stability, properties contrast before and after aging and econ omy analysis. The results show that SBS can obviously improve the temperature sensitivity of asphalt. SBS Ⅱ for Highway, YH-791 and YH-792 can improve the high and low temperature properties at the same time. Furthermore, the usage of SBS has relativity with the improvement of elastic recovery ability of asphalt. The relation between the compatibility of modified asphalt and the range of asphalt component or the value of CI is different to various basis asphalts. In order to quantify the decline of low- temperature property of asphalt after aging, ductility ratio and recommend value are put forward, and according to economic and technical analysis, the types and kinds of SBS modifiers to different climate zones are put forward. |
