This paper has investigeted the elastic and plastoelastic
buckling problems of space structure and given the corresponding
analytic programs. It studies the arch space system especially.
Employing the principle of the minimum potential energy, the ela
stic critical buckling load q of arch space system, composed of
double main arch ribs, with inclination α and transverse bracing
beams, is obtained. The factors of inclination α of ribs and the
rigids of bracing beams have been studied. Depending on Da-yang
river bridge, the model test has been developed further. Compari
sions of the theoritical analysis with the results of
experimental and computer method show that the critical buckling
load q given by this paper might be simply used in design
practice with sufficient accuracy. For plastoelastic buckling
problem of arch, this paper has modified the method which used to
caculate the reduction coefficient of plastoelastic problem
early. Comparing to the results of finit element method, we know
that this modified method is of dependable.
