Expansive ground is clay soil or rock which exhibits significant volume changes because of mineral moisture variation.The design of shield tunnel lining in saturated expansive ground is a difficult task.Difficulties are generally met for characterization of expansive ground and for prediction of the response for tunnel excavation and support loading.In this paper,temperature-stress coupling model is adopted to simulate swelling behavior considering different expansion rates and distribution locations by generating a volumetric strain increment measured from laboratory tests.Research results show that the swelling contact pressure is distinguished to the force tested in laboratory because of different boundary conditions.The swelling contact pressure varies with different distribution patterns of expansive ground.In the calculation of lining internal force,considering swelling pressure,the value of calculated bending moments and displacement have a great increase,but the changes of axial forces and shear forces are little. |
