Hot Mix Asphalt Research Investigation for Connecticut |
摘要: |
The objective of this study was to study several different challenges presenting themselves regarding hot mix asphalt (HMA). These included: examining the possibility of reducing the number of Superpave traffic levels for Superpave mix designs; developing minimum asphalt content guidelines; conducting permeability testing on HMA pavements; evaluating the use of permeability for dispute resolution on bridge decks; and comparing the field performance of Superpave vs. Marshall asphalt pavement mixes. The study consists of seven different parts: (1) Part A- Reduction in the Number of Superpave Mix Design Levels; (2) Part B - Develop Guidelines for Minimum Asphalt Content; (3) Part C- Permeability/Porosity Testing of HMA Mix Designs; (4) Part D- Evaluate the Feasibility of Using Permeability for Place Density Dispute Resolution on Bridge Decks; (5) Part E-Compare Field Performance of Superpave and Traditional Mixes; (6) Part F- Process HMA Test Data for Compliance with PWL; and (7) Part G-Prepare Final Report, Executive Summary and Presentation. |
