摘要: In the non-fatal vehicle-pedestrian accidents, lower extremity injuries are the most common injury patterns. In order to investigate the lower extremity injury risks using real word accident data, a subsample of 371 cases with pedestrian lower extremity AIS1 + injuries from GIDAS database, were used to conduct statistical analysis.Furthermore, the logistic regression models of the risks for lower extremity AIS2+ injuries and tibia/fibula fractures were developed by means of vehicle impact speed and pedestrian ages. The results revealed that impact speed and age were the two statistically significant predictors for pedestrians sustaining lower extremity AIS2+injuries and tibia/fibula fractures. In the selected sample, the lower extremity AIS2+ injury risk is 50% probability at impact speed of 46.3krn/h.The tibia/fibula fracture injury risks are 50% and 20% at impact speed of 64.6km/h and 42.6km/h, respectively.Risk of injury increases with increasing of impact speed as well as does age was also found according to the data analysis.
