Traffic-related accidents are a major threat to life in the European Union. In spite of the significant improvements in vehicle safety over the past 25 years, the current number of deaths (43,000) and injuries (1,600,000) plus all the associated social and economic costs (160 -250 billion Euro),remain unacceptable. This paper is a research into what types of ADAS systems are available, and at which point of an accident they can influence the accident outcome. For this purpose the accident has been broken down into phases, from “normal driving” to “Post accident”.Also included is a look at which systems attract points for ADAS according to the ENCAP roadmap. |
