A B class economical car equipped with front Macpherson and rear twist beam is investigated,the aim is developing a twist beam to achieve the design requirements of roll angle gradient,understeer gradient when cornering,while ensuring its structural integrity is achieved with a reduction in its mass.In order to perform the optimization process,the targets at a vehicle level based on the benchmarked vehicle are defined,and then the targets are cascaded to the system and parts levels,by redesigning the cross beam sectional properties,the structure optimization is carried out without changing twist beam axle hardpoint locations. |
