The National Resource Center for Human Service Transportation was established in May 2007 as part of the Community Transportation Association of America's (CTAA) Information Station. The Center provides research, training, technical assistance, and other activities in support of organizations and communities seeking to improve mobility through coordination. The Center was established under Section 3046 of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, and Efficient Transportation Equity Act, A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). It is operated by the CTAA under a cooperative agreement with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The goal is to assist States and local communities in the provision of coordinated human service transportation for older adults, people with disabilities, individuals with lower incomes, and to improve coordination of Federal resources for human service transport. |
