This paper describes a method to design contact pattern of spiral bevel gear in drive axle. Gear mounting position changes under load and so does the contact pattern. Finite element analysis software and spiral bevel gear calculation software are used to analyze misalignment of gear mounting position at meshing point and contact pattern deformation under load. This paper focus on design of contact pattern by calculating mounting position misalignment and analyzing contact pattern spread under load. |
