Alternative Transportation in Parks and Public Lands
项目名称: Alternative Transportation in Parks and Public Lands
摘要: The Alternative Transportation in Parks and Public Lands (ATPPL) program is a new discretionary program administered by the Federal Transit Administration in partnership with the Department of the Interior and the Forest Service. The program funds capital and planning expenses for alternative transportation systems such as shuttle buses, intelligent transportation systems, and financial feasibility studies in national parks and public lands. The goals of the program are to improve visitor mobility and accessibility; reduce congestion and pollution; enhance visitor experience; ensure access to all, including persons with disabilities; and conserve natural, historical, and cultural resources. This project enables the Volpe Center to provide technical assistance to advance the development of the Alternative Transportation in Parks and Public Lands program.
