项目说明：	April 2021 - Construction restarted last year, Construction will end by 2023; October 2020 - Planning underway with arrangement being made to bring in Japanese engineers this month for the Honiara International airport project; May 2020 - The airport upgrade is now in limbo and has been suspended following the threats of the Coronavirus (Covid-19); November 2019 - Kitano Construction Corporation has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to upgrade the airport; March 2019 - World Bank will provide USD51mn financing to infrastructure projects, which includes Honiara International Airport upgradation; June 2018 - JICA has signed a grant agreement with Government of the Solomon Islands to provide grant aid of up to JPY4.36bn (USD39.5mn) for the project; Project includes rehabilitation of existing taxiway and apron, expansion of international/domestic apron, construction of a new connecting taxiway, renovation of existing passenger terminal building, construction of an international departure passenger terminal and construction of a flood protection embankment
