| 项目说明： | January 2022 - Governments of Iran and Iraq have signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of project; July 2021 - Governments of Iran and Iraq have signed an initial agreement to start works on the line; May 2021 - Negotiations between the governments of Iraq and Iran for the construction of a 30 km railway line project between the two countries are in final stage; April 2021 - Iraqi Cabinet has approved the construction of the new railway between Basra and Shalamcheh; September 2019 - Project is being implemented with investment of 60% by Mostazafan Foundation and 40% by Iran Railway Company; August 2019 - Construction on 32 km section between Shalamcheh - Basra to begin soon and complete within a year; Iran section with a length of 17 km has been completed in 2011 while Iraq section is left to be completed; Project includes construction of rail line from Khoramshahr in Iran to Basra in Iraq with a total length of 49 km |
