December 2021 - Environmental review process is currently underway; August 2021 - Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority has issued notices to proceed to two private sector firms to start pre-development works; April 2021 - LA Metro has approved two contracts for pre-development works on the line; February 2021 - LA Metro released its recommendation for two private sector teams to conduct pre-development work to advance the line; December 2020 - Project is currently in the planning phase as different routes and financing plans are being studied and developed; September 2020 - Transportation Authority has approved a USD48.3mn contract with HNTB Corporation, Terry A. Hayes Associates, and AECOM Technical Services to carry out environmental studies and advanced conceptual engineering for the project; July 2020 - Government to fund phase I; January 2020 - Metropolitan Transportation Authority has shortlisted five potential partner teams to move forward in the bidding process; November 2019 - Feasibility study completed and Metropolitan Transportation Authority has launched RfP seeking up to two private firms to support pre-development works of the project for which authority is studying four alternative routes, with three routes using heavy rail while one uses monorail; Line will link San Fernando Valley with the Westside in the beginning and ultimately with the Los Angeles International Airport |
