Laboratory Data to Determine Impact of Coarse Aggregate Type and Cementitious Materials on Design Thickness of PCC Pavements
项目名称: Laboratory Data to Determine Impact of Coarse Aggregate Type and Cementitious Materials on Design Thickness of PCC Pavements
摘要: The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) needed mechanical and volume change properties of portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement in order to implement pavement thickness design procedures of the Mechanistic- Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG). These properties include compressive strength, flexural strength, modulus of elasticity, Poisson’s ratio, coefficient of thermal expansion, and length change. Property data for twenty laboratory mixtures representing MDOT’s typical concrete pavement are included in this report. These mixtures utilized five coarse aggregate sources and four cementitious blends including; portland cement, Class C and Class F fly ash, and slag cement. Results for compressive strength, flexural strength, modulus of elasticity and Poisson’s ratio were reported for 7, 14, 28, and 90 days. Results for coefficient of thermal expansion were reported for 28 days. Results for length change from the end of the initial 7-day moist curing period were generally reported for 0, 5, 7, 14, 28, 35, 56, 112, 224, 448, 812, 813, 815, 819, 826, 840, 847, 868, and 981 days.
