| 摘要： | The objective of this research project is to investigate the impacts of national freight traffic trends and projections on the pavement infrastructure. The outcome will be a map of the major transportation corridors that identifies critical locations where projected freight trends may have the strongest negative impact on the transportation infrastructure. The proposed work is limited in scope to the pavement performance, but may provide insight into other parts of the transportation infrastructure. This objective will be accomplished through the following 6 tasks: (1) Literature Review; (2) Developing Correlations between Traffic Volume, Loads, and Composition; (3) Identifying Pavement Design Information; (4) Predicting Pavement Performance with the Mechanistic Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) Design/Analysis Tool; (5) Developing "Hot Spots" Map for Freight Impacts on Highway Infrastructure; (6) Final Reporting. |
