| 摘要： | Effective and efficient removal of snow and ice from public roadways is a key outcome for winter maintenance. This project will develop a weather severity index that connects relevant weather‐related variables to traffic‐related variables. This will require classification of weather by type of event, such as wet snow, snow squalls, lake effect, freezing rain, frost. Geographic data sets of winter weather severity will be produced using detailed meteorological observations. A database will be delivered that contains the severity index, weather‐related variables, and numerical predictions of the severity index statewide, on an hourly basis. |
