This project proposes to develop individual models for incident duration, secondary crash occurrence, associated delays, and queue length and apply those to one or two urban cities in Tennessee(TN). The project will also propose a framework for the development of an online Hot Spot Visual Tool (HSVT) to identify most hazardous locations or hot spots and a crash identification toolbox (CIT) to obtain specifics of primary and secondary crashes from archived crash data. In combination, the proposed three models can help in predicting short-term primary and secondary crash durations, the probable occurrence of secondary crashes, delay and associated queue length. The scope of the project will also include identification of hotspots and provide strategies to improve truck operations against accidents. |
