| 摘要： | In this project the researchers will investigate motor vehicle drivers' characteristics, their perceptions of safety at crossings, understanding and comprehension of traffic signs/signals at crossings, and their self-reported unsafe maneuvers at highway-rail grade crossings in two cities of Nebraska: Fremont and Lincoln. A two-stage mail contact survey design will be used including an initial mail invitation and one subsequent mail invitation to solicit responses from a sample of drivers in these two cities. The researchers will analyze collected data using appropriate statistical models to reveal drivers' characteristics involved in unsafe maneuvers at highway-rail grade crossings. Implications for improving safety will be assessed and recommendations prepared for improving public safety at highway-rail grade crossings. |
