| 摘要： | Sulfates in natural substrates can cause deterioration of Indiana's roads. Existing analytical methods to measure sulfate contents are variable in their approach and not specific to Indiana. There exists little quantification of amounts of sulfate occurring naturally in Indiana, identification of geographic areas having high sulfate content, or analysis of sulfate occurring in alternate road building materials such as byproducts from coal combustion. The study team will evaluate existing methods of quantifying sulfate; recommend Indiana specific test methods, and develop GIS maps and a database of potential problem areas. |
