| 摘要： | A gap in the body of knowledge in the areas of cost allocation/infrastructure recovery and safety regarding increases in truck size and weight has been identified. The goal of this research is to critically evaluate the claims made by groups advocating for heavier and longer trucks and to update knowledge potential impacts to safety and infrastructure, including economic and fiscal consequences. Given that a Congressionally mandated study will be conducted over the next two years, the focus will be on completing this research effort to supplement the work that is being done by the Federal Highway Administration. The study will be divided into three main areas: safety, infrastructure, and cost recovery. |
