| 摘要： | In 2017, the Committee on Planning developed a strategic plan and a two-year action plan, which identified specific tasks the committee, and subcommittees would undertake to support the strategic plan. Since that time, the leadership of the Committee on Planning has changed; the overall structure of the TRB planning committees has changed; and what constitutes planning at state and local transportation agencies has evolved. In light of these changes and the release of FHWA’s strategic plan, it is important that members of leadership from these three organizations come together for a strategic planning session where specific actions and strategies can be discussed. The Committee on Planning would like to work collaboratively with the TRB planning committees to develop a research roadmap and an updated strategic plan that reflects the aforementioned changes. The objectives for this research are: (1) to develop a comprehensive strategic approach and action plan to coordinate the transportation planning activities that AASHTO, TRB, and USDOT can use to guide their future activities; and (2) develop a long-term research strategy to continue to advance the state of practice in transportation planning. The result of this research will be an updated transportation planning research roadmap that will guide future research, a list of development activities to be undertaken by the transportation industry in a coordinated fashion, and an interactive transportation planning research management tool. |
