Applying AcciMap to e-scooter crashes: A Safe Systems approach to analyzing micromobility
项目名称: Applying AcciMap to e-scooter crashes: A Safe Systems approach to analyzing micromobility
摘要: The goal of this project is to develop a framework based on AcciMap analysis that can be used to identify the network of contributing factors involved in micromobility crashes. The methods will include completing AcciMap analyses of a sample of e-scooter crashes to develop a Generic AcciMap that generalizes the results of the underlying AcciMaps to cover additional micromobility categories. While completing these tasks, the research team will document the process to develop a reproduceable framework that can be used for future analysis efforts in the micromobility domain. The AcciMaps created by this project will independently be useful by indicating how crashes can be reduced by improving behaviors along all levels of the decision-making process (i.e., not just for road users). However, similar AcciMaps developed from a related set of crashes can be aggregated to form a Generic AcciMap. A Generic AcciMap generalizes the results of the underlying AcciMaps to cover a domain of inquiry. In this case, the intent is to develop an AcciMap to represent micromobility crashes, broadly. The result would be a tool for practitioners to assess the safety implications of emerging and future micromobility technologies.
