Effective Tools and Practices for Measuring Telecommuting Employee Performance
项目名称: Effective Tools and Practices for Measuring Telecommuting Employee Performance
摘要: COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on business continuity in part due to a shift in business operations, namely quarantine orders led businesses to switch business processes to allow more employees to telecommute in an effort to maintain business operations.   Effective tools and successful practices for measuring the impact of telecommuting would inform future disruptions. Learning about the impact of eliminating workers’ commute and successful measurement of the telecommuting employee performance or productivity and determining whether differences in performance are observable or attributable to telecommuting versus being in an office with other employees would be instructive.   A summary of successful practices should document lessons learned and obstacles to a successful transition and maintaining productivity among employees required to telecommute during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study will identify what resources are needed by employees and organizations to work effectively under geographically and temporally dispersed conditions, and given the necessary resources, whether the workers and organization are happier, more effective and efficient, and more sustainably engaged one way or the other.   Peer exchange activities may bridge the separation among agencies and question the supposed uniqueness of each agency’s problems and opportunities can play an important role in advancing the state of practice
