Strength and Serviceability of Damaged Steel Girders
项目名称: Strength and Serviceability of Damaged Steel Girders
摘要: The objective of this research is to develop fundamental understanding of damage in steel bridge girders due to vehicle strikes and to translate that knowledge into a framework for structural inspection, assessment, and decision-making. Recommendations for evaluation of damaged steel bridge girders will inform revised load ratings and other necessary safety and operational responses. These advances will enhance the confidence in decision-making for actions required after a bridge strike. When damaged girders that are still functional can remain in service with only minor repairs instead of being replaced, sustainability and life-cycle costs are improved and any negative impact on motorists is reduced.
