| 摘要： | Bridge deck drains continue to be a problem for bridge maintenance. Infrequent drain cleaning causes deck drains to clog with debris. Drain pipes in Texas tend to be embedded within the bent caps and columns, creating difficulty in maintaining their proper function through cleaning and flushing. A synthesis is needed to give guidance to TxDOT for the implementation of improved deck drainage systems. The research team will conduct a synthesis of national research and in use bridge structures within the US and/or internationally. The synthesis study will target criteria for the selection of drain type and materials as well as pipe materials, placement of pipe within or external to the bridge structure, as well as deck drain configuration. |
