DECOMOBIL is a three-year support action under the EC’s FP7 programme, which contributes to European working groups and hosts knowledge dissemination seminars. Its main activities are: · organising events involving researchers, industry stakeholders and public-sector decision makers to debate current and future priorities for human-centred design and eco-mobility (i.e. mobility that considers environmental aspects such that travel can be achieved in a low carbon or carbon-neutral and sustainable way) · developing and summarising knowledge and expert comment from task forces related to eco-mobility · disseminating outputs from DECOMOBIL activities to European forums and the broader community interested in sustainable transport. Seminars have been held on a range of topics including: training for eco-driving (i.e. driving to minimise fuel use but without compromising safety); long-term effects of ITS; transport services using personal handheld devices; and, electric vehicles. TRL has contributed presentations on current relevant work and has also participated in a research “roadmapping” exercise to identify key future research needs in the domain of human-centred design and eco-mobility. |
