In-service Assessment of Road Sinkholes with 2D Ambient Noise Tomography
项目名称: In-service Assessment of Road Sinkholes with 2D Ambient Noise Tomography
摘要: The main objective of this project is to develop a 2D Ambient Noise Tomography (ANT) method using traffic noises for detection of pre-collapsed sinkholes (buried voids) beneath roadways. It is expected that the ANT method developed through this project will provide 2D profiles of P-wave and S-wave velocities of substructures at feet-scales (3-5 ft cells) to 100-ft depth. The P-wave and S-wave velocity profiles will be used to infer the information of the voids including depths, sizes, and filled materials (air, water, raveled soils). The ANT algorithm will be incorporated into the available GUI software of the 2D FWI, and transferred to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for future sinkhole investigations.
