Bicycle Network Connectivity and Accessibility: A Study on the Effects of Bike Infrastructures on Bicycle Sharing System Demand
项目名称: Bicycle Network Connectivity and Accessibility: A Study on the Effects of Bike Infrastructures on Bicycle Sharing System Demand
摘要: A bicycle-sharing system (public bicycle system, or bike-share scheme) is a service in which bicycles are made available for shared use to individuals on a short term basis for a price or free. Many bike share systems allow users to borrow a bike from a station and return it at another station belonging to the same system. The goal is to encourage cycling as a mode of transportation as well as recreation. As a result, the bicycle infrastructure investments grow with more cyclists on the road. The proposed project is a longitudinal analysis to study the effects of bike infrastructures, particularly bike lanes and bike paths, on bicycle sharing system demand.
