摘要: The motor vehicles, on one hand, have facilitated the easy, convenient, and fast transportation of passengers, goods and equipment but, on the other hand, have become a potential cause of violence on the roads. On the Indian roads, the violence in varied forms is taking place on very trivial issues too. Road rage, which is unreasonable and offensive behaviour of the drivers, has attracted the attention of common people specially in media reporting. The condition has been so worsened that today, in respect of Indian roads, it is said that where there is road, there is road rage. The present paper deals with the issues related with violence on roads by the aggressive drivers in furtherance of their criminal intent which is known as 'road rage'. Further, it gives some rational suggestions also to minimise the road rage cases. The incidents of what has come to be known as "road rage" in the city are now on the rise and are being reported regularly. Commuters, on the smallest of the provocation, are known to have hit out at their fellow commuters violently, sometimes also fatally. Everyone on the road appears to be on a short fuse.
