| 摘要： | Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is a leading organisation of public transport in Maharashtra State. The Corporation has 18500 buses with 36900 drivers and operates services throughout the State. The job of bus driving is a challenging one in terms of psychological risk and health outcome. The paper examines the sources of occupational stress in a sample of MSRTC bus drivers. A questionnaire survey was completed by a number of drivers from several bus depots. The questionnaire battery consisted of measures of job strain, job specific stressors, psychological health and physical health. High job strain bus drivers were compared to low job strain bus drivers and significant differences were found in terms of organisational outcomes such as accident rates, work absenteeism, intention to quit, service level quality and personal health habits. |
