Construction of pavements requires suitable materials to withstand moving repeated application of load it is essential to find alternate materials in order to meet requirements. One such source is waste materials derived from demolition of old and new construction site. The primary drawback in using these materials is the high water absorption potential. Present study aims to evaluate the waste aggregate materials with and without beneficiation process, which improves the physical properties of aggregates. Thermal beneficiation, mechanical beneficiation and acid soaking process were carried out, to study the material property of aggregates. From the results obtained it can be observed that the acid soaking beneficiation process with Hydrochloric acid improves the material properties of recycled aggregates as per the requirements of Indian road congress specifications. |
