| 摘要： | To meet the demand of construction industry, civil engineering professionals are encountering variety of problems challenging engineering knowledge and analysis where human element is involved with ethical principles essential for sustainable development. Corruption in the construction sector keeps the lives and livelihoods of people miserable which may lead to unrecoverable poverty. To overcome such obstacle, the engineering knowledge should be synthesized with ethical principles scrupulously abided as per the prescribed norms. To attain the objective, ethical principles and code of conduct recommended by engineering associations guide the civil engineering professionals to act transparently with unbiased engineering judgment towards realizing sustainable development in the form of public safety, welfare and economic development. Therefore, the role of civil engineering associations is considered important for guiding the professionals towards right conduct. Role of engineering associations in guiding the professionals in solving infrastructure issues and related challenges in the light of ethical context are brought out in this paper. |
