摘要：	Ziel des Projektes COVER ist es, die Forschungsaktivitaeten von vier EU-Projekten des siebten Forschungsrahmenprogramms zu koordinieren. An zwei dieser Projekte, THORAX (Entwicklung eines neuen Brustkorbs fuer einen Frontalaufprall-Dummy) und CASPER (Kindersicherheit), ist die Bundesanstalt fuer Strassenwesen (BASt) beteiligt. Die Abstimmung von Aktivitaeten und Nutzung gemeinsamer Ressourcen zwischen den vier Projekten erfolgt insbesondere in den Bereichen Unfalldatenerhebung und Disseminationen (Verbreitung der Ergebnisse gegenueber bedeutenden Interessengruppen sowie der Oeffentlichkeit). Durch das gemeinsam abgestimmte Auftreten der vier Projekte gegenueber den Interessengruppen soll eine schnellere Umsetzung der biomechanischen Erkenntnisse in eine effektive Entwicklung von Produkten im Bereich der Fahrzeugsicherheit erreicht werden. ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: The aim of the COVER project is to coordinate the research activities of four EU projects forming part of the seventh research framework programme. The BASt is involved in two of these projects, THORAX (the development of a new thorax for a frontal collision dummy) and CASPER (child safety). The coordination of activities and the sharing of resources between the four projects will mostly take place in the fields of accident data collection and dissemination (forwarding results to the major interest groups and making it available to the public). When it comes to dealing with interest groups, the coordination of the four projects is to result in a more rapid implementation of biomechanical findings to further the effective development of vehicle safety-related products.
