This article details efforts by the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) and the Center for Transportation Research (CTR) to produce smoother operations in transporting goods across the U.S.-Mexico border. The project involves identifying opportunities to reduce overall time in transit for goods, developing a general coordination system for all U.S.-Mexico border ports, using pilot programs in at least three ports for evaluation purposes, and proposing a plan of action for implementing the coordination system in U.S.-Mexico border ports. |
